The Deathguard was the precursor to the Norican Guard. It was founded in the early days of the Tyrian Republic by Hyparnus of Brecceleia. Like the Norican Guard, the Deathguard was comprised entirely of exiled Norican knights. The unit maintained the reputation for its stubbornness and tenacity on the field of battle, and quickly rose to prominence in the eyes of both the Tyrians and their opponents.
The Deathguard was ambushed and destroyed to a man at the Battle of Ermion in the Disputed Lands.
